CalComet is built to be useful without being nosy. Our calculators run in your browser, and we keep the data we collect to the minimum needed to run a fast, free website.

The short version

• You don't need an account, and we never ask for personal details to use a calculator.
• The numbers you type into a calculator are processed in your own browser and are not sent to or stored on our servers.
• We use cookies for basic analytics and to show ads, which help keep CalComet free.

Information we collect

We do not collect names, email addresses or payment details, because CalComet has no sign-up or checkout. The values you enter into any tool (for example your weight, income or measurements) stay on your device and are used only to display your result.

Like most websites, our hosting and analytics providers may automatically receive standard technical information such as your approximate location (from your IP address), browser type, device type, referring page and the pages you visit. This is used in aggregate to understand which calculators are popular and to keep the site working.

Cookies and analytics

Cookies are small files stored by your browser. We use them to measure traffic and improve the site, and our advertising partners use them to deliver and measure ads. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time; the calculators will still work.

Advertising

CalComet displays ads, including through Google AdSense. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits.

We serve the site over encrypted connections and keep our software up to date. Because we don't collect or store the figures you calculate, there is very little personal data that could be exposed.

Children's privacy

CalComet is a general-audience site and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll revise the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the site means you accept the current version.
